# Technical documentation — simpleform_frontend_reactjs

Evidence date: 2026-10-03.

Source: `git@bitbucket.org:overdrive/simpleform_frontend_reactjs.git`, `master` at `4915764` (2023-12-21, author Jaco Brits, "bitbucket-pipelines.yml created online with Bitbucket"). Only branch: `master`. `origin/HEAD` points at `master`.

The scan-host path `~/projects/sonar_scan/repos/simpleform_frontend_reactjs` was not on the machine that produced this document. Facts below come from a full clone of that git revision (history was fetched after a shallow clone). No secret values are stored in the tree.

## What this repository is

A Bitbucket repository with three tracked files and no application. Remote: `git@bitbucket.org:overdrive/simpleform_frontend_reactjs.git`.

## Architecture

There is no runtime, database, API, or front end. The only executable description is Bitbucket Pipelines.

```text
bitbucket-pipelines.yml
  image: maven:3.3.9
  clone.depth: full
  pipelines.branches.{master}
        step "SonarQube analysis"
          pipe: sonarsource/sonarqube-scan:2.0.1
            SONAR_HOST_URL: ${SONAR_HOST_URL}
            SONAR_TOKEN:    ${SONAR_TOKEN}
          project key from sonar-project.properties
```

The step does not run a build. Pushes that do not match `{master}` do not start this step. There is no `default` pipeline.

## Repository layout

| Path | What it is |
|---|---|
| `.gitignore` | Bitbucket's default example ignore list, from `b1f9070`. Header comment links to `https://www.atlassian.com/git/tutorials/saving-changes/gitignore` and says to customize the list. |
| `sonar-project.properties` | One line, from `046cc2c`. See Sonar below. |
| `bitbucket-pipelines.yml` | SonarQube pipe pipeline, from `4915764`. Commit subject says it was created online with Bitbucket. |

Absent, including the path the task-creation scan listed:

| Path | Status |
|---|---|
| `README.md` | Not in git |
| `package.json`, lockfile, `src/`, JSX, HTML | Not in git |
| `pom.xml`, Java sources | Not in git |
| `sonarqube_scan.bat` | Named by the task-creation scan. Not in any commit |
| Tests, Docker, infrastructure-as-code, app config | Not in git |

The task-creation scan also listed `bitbucket-pipelines.yml` and `sonar-project.properties`. Both are in git at `4915764`.

## Languages and frameworks

**Unknown** for the product. No source file selects a language.

The pipeline image is `maven:3.3.9`. The script does not call Maven. `.gitignore` contains Node, Java, Python, and Maven patterns because it is the stock Bitbucket list, not because those toolchains are configured.

No React, framework, ORM, or UI library is declared. The repository slug is `simpleform_frontend_reactjs`.

## Sonar configuration

Full contents of `sonar-project.properties`:

```text
sonar.projectKey=overdrive_simpleform_frontend_reactjs_AYyLZItsX_eKQO3WBKsI
```

Not set in that file: `sonar.projectName`, `sonar.sources`, `sonar.exclusions`, `sonar.host.url`, `sonar.login`, `sonar.token`, language, encoding, or a quality gate.

The project key is an identifier, not a credential. It is the only Sonar setting committed.

## Pipeline

Full behaviour of `bitbucket-pipelines.yml`:

- `image: maven:3.3.9`.
- `definitions.steps` holds one anchored step, `&build-step`, name `SonarQube analysis`.
- That step's script is the pipe `sonarsource/sonarqube-scan:2.0.1` with `SONAR_HOST_URL: ${SONAR_HOST_URL}` and `SONAR_TOKEN: ${SONAR_TOKEN}`.
- Comments on those two lines say to get the value from the repository or workspace variable, and that the token should not be set in clear text.
- `definitions.caches.sonar` is `~/.sonar`. The step does not reference that cache. No Maven cache is declared.
- `clone.depth: full`.
- `pipelines.branches` has one key, `{master}`, which runs `*build-step`.

Not present in the YAML: services, deployment environments, manual triggers, pull-request pipelines, a `default` pipeline, a test step, an `mvn` command, or an `npm` command.

The pipe runs as Bitbucket's pipe container. The step image `maven:3.3.9` is the image for the step script. The script has no commands besides the pipe. Whether the pipe needs that image was not tested. Provenance: **Implemented** YAML. A reason for the Maven image is **Unknown** from this file; it is the image written in the file that the commit says was created online with Bitbucket.

## Environments

| Name in the file | What is known |
|---|---|
| Sonar server | Named only as `${SONAR_HOST_URL}`. No hostname is committed. |
| Production / QA app hosts | Not named. |
| Local development | No instructions, no `.env.example`, no dev server. |

Variable names the step expects:

| Variable | Used as |
|---|---|
| `SONAR_HOST_URL` | Pipe variable. Comment: repository or workspace variable. |
| `SONAR_TOKEN` | Pipe variable. Comment: repository or workspace variable. Not to be stored in clear text. |

Values are not in the repository. Whether they are set on the Bitbucket repository or workspace is **Unknown / Requires Confirmation**.

## External hosts written in source

No hostname, API base, or database host is written in the tree.

The only external system named is the pipe `sonarsource/sonarqube-scan:2.0.1`, which talks to whatever host `SONAR_HOST_URL` expands to.

## Auth

No application auth.

Pipeline analysis auth is `SONAR_TOKEN`, passed as a pipe variable. The token is not in git. The file comment says not to put it in clear text.

## Data

No database, schema, migration, or storage bucket is configured. `.gitignore` would ignore logs, `node_modules/`, `dist/`, Maven `target/`, and build outputs of several languages if those files were created later.

The Sonar project key is the only domain identifier stored in git.

## Background work

No worker, cron, or queue. The pipeline is the only job, and it is branch-triggered for the pattern `{master}` only.

The declared `sonar` cache is not attached to the step, so this file does not enable reuse of `~/.sonar` across runs. Provenance: **Implemented** (cache key exists, step omits `caches`).

## Security notes from the tree

- No passwords, tokens, or private keys are committed.
- `SONAR_TOKEN` is a variable reference. The comment forbids a clear-text secret in the YAML.
- `.gitignore` does not list `.env`. No `.env` file is committed.
- The project key is committed. It identifies a Sonar project. It does not authenticate to one.

## Build, run, and deploy

From this clone, there is nothing to install or run. There is no `package.json` and no `pom.xml`.

The analysis command that would run, on a branch matching `{master}`, is the Sonar pipe in the only step. It was not executed for this document. There is no deploy step.

## Quality and tests

The quality tool in git is the SonarQube pipe plus the project key. No test runner, linter, formatter, or coverage config is in git. No quality-gate property is in `sonar-project.properties`.

`sonarqube_scan.bat` is not in history. A local scan command cannot be stated.

## Monitoring

No metrics, log shipping, health check, or alerting config is in the repository. SonarQube is analysis of the git tree, not runtime monitoring of an application. There is no application to monitor.

## Local development gaps

- No README or setup steps.
- No application source, despite the repository name.
- No `package.json` for a React front end and no `pom.xml` for the Maven image.
- `SONAR_HOST_URL` and `SONAR_TOKEN` are required by the pipe and are not in git.
- `sonarqube_scan.bat` was named by the onboarding scan and is not in git.
- The `sonar` cache is defined and not used by the step.
- Last commit is 2023-12-21.
