# Business rules — reactjs-appstarter

Evidence date: 2026-10-05.

Source: `git@bitbucket.org:overdrive/reactjs-appstarter.git`, `master` at `8dada64` (2023-03-01).

No business-rules document exists in the source repository. The tree has no application code, so there are no domain rules for users, forms, pricing, or permissions. The only constraint the committed file states is which paths git should ignore. Anything marked **Inferred** is a conclusion from that evidence, not a written policy.

## What the ignore file states

### BR-001 — Git ignores the example pattern list

**Implemented.**

`.gitignore` tells git to ignore:

- `node_modules/` and `dist/` (Node artifact paths; `dist/` is written twice)
- `*.class` (compiled Java)
- `*.py[cod]` (compiled Python)
- `*.log`
- `*.jar` and Maven `target/`
- `.idea/`
- `TEST*.xml`
- `.DS_Store` and `Thumbs.db`
- `*.app`, `*.exe`, `*.war`
- `*.mp4`, `*.tiff`, `*.avi`, `*.flv`, `*.mov`, `*.wmv`

The header says these are examples and should be customized for the project. Commit `8dada64` added the file. No later commit changed it.

Evidence: `.gitignore`.

### BR-002 — The ignore list does not choose a product stack

**Implemented** file. **Unknown** stack.

The patterns name Node, Java, Python, and Maven paths. The header says they are examples. This is not a rule that the product uses those languages. Provenance of a stack choice: **Unknown**. The `node_modules/` line is not evidence of a React app.

The file does not ignore `.env`. It does not ignore `sonar-project.properties`. Neither of those files is committed.

## Rules that were not found

No evidence in this repository for:

- User roles, authentication, or authorization of an application.
- Validation, required fields, or uniqueness.
- Pricing, tax, or billing.
- Retention, audit, or privacy rules.
- A SonarQube project key, quality gate, source path, or exclusion.
- A local scan command. The scan-host names `sonar-project.properties` and `sonarqube_scan.bat` are not in git.
- A pipeline branch rule, deploy target, retry, approval, or rollback.
- A React starter's expected files, scripts, or conventions. The repository name is the only hint, and it is **Inferred**.
