# Project plan — footprint-lambda

Evidence date: 2026-10-14.

Source repository: `git@bitbucket.org:overdrive/footprint-lambda.git`.

Inspected revision: `master` at `351a5ca129d32c1a91550dbd2b7f3be8b7656b25` (2022-02-23 04:29:38 +0000, Jaco Brits, "Initial commit"). That commit is `origin/HEAD`. `git ls-remote --heads --tags origin` on 2026-10-14 printed the same SHA for `refs/heads/master` and no other refs.

The scan-host path `~/projects/sonar_scan/repos/footprint-lambda` was not on this machine. The tree below was read from a clone of that git revision.

This plan describes what the repository contains. It does not decide what the product should become.

No `silicon_ark/footprint-lambda/` directory existed before this file. A search of Silicon Ark Markdown for `footprint-lambda` found no earlier mention of this slug.

## Product

There is no application, README, or product statement in git. The only tracked file is `.gitignore`. Its header says the patterns are examples to customize, and it links to Atlassian's gitignore tutorial. It is not a description of a Lambda function or of a Footprint product.

The names in evidence are:

| Name | Where it appears | Provenance |
|---|---|---|
| `footprint-lambda` | Bitbucket slug and `origin` URL | **Implemented** as the remote |
| `footprint-lambda` | Scan-host directory name recorded on OVER-126 (2026-09-28) | **Documented** in the onboarding issue, not in the repository |

A repository name is not a requirements statement. Whether "lambda" means AWS Lambda, a function name, or an unused label is **Unknown / Requires Confirmation**. Whether "footprint" refers to any other Footprint system is **Unknown / Requires Confirmation**.

## Branch reality

| Line | Tip | Date | What it is |
|---|---|---|---|
| `master` (default; `origin/HEAD`) | `351a5ca` | 2022-02-23 | Only branch. One commit |

`git rev-list --all --count` is 1. `git tag -l` printed nothing. `git ls-tree -r HEAD` lists `.gitignore` only (blob `b24d71e22373e5147f3c05c68a8742714a89b5d6`, 624 bytes, 50 LF lines, no CR in the blob).

OVER-126 (captured 2026-09-28) recorded the same tip: `351a5ca`, 2022-02-23, "Initial commit", branch `master`. This clone agrees. Nothing has been committed since that date.

## Objectives

No project plan, issue list, or objective exists in the repository. No objective can be inferred from application code, because there is no application code.

**Unknown / Requires Confirmation** whether this repository was created as a placeholder for a Footprint Lambda, or as a repository that was never filled in.

## Scope

### In scope of `master` at `351a5ca`

1. A Git repository on Bitbucket whose only tracked file is `.gitignore`.
2. The 624-byte ignore file at that commit. Provenance: **Implemented** (blob bytes). The file's own comments say the patterns are examples to customize. Provenance of that instruction: **Documented** in the file header.

### Out of scope / not in this repository

- An application, Lambda handler, API, database, test suite, or deployment manifest.
- Any file other than `.gitignore`.
- A description of what "footprint" or "lambda" refers to.
- The contents of `sonar-project.properties` and `sonarqube_scan.bat`. Those names were reported by the 2026-09-28 scan. They are not in git, and the scan-host path could not be opened here.
- Product behaviour of other Silicon Ark directories whose names contain "footprint" or "lambda". See [Other names in Silicon Ark](#other-names-in-silicon-ark).

## System shape

No system is implemented.

```text
bitbucket.org/overdrive/footprint-lambda
└── .gitignore    (624 bytes at 351a5ca; starter example list)
```

There is no frontend, backend, database, API, worker, or deployment manifest in the remote.

## Major components

None. **Implemented** application-component count is zero.

`.gitignore` tells Git which untracked paths to skip. It is not a product component.

## Milestones visible in git

| When | Commit | What landed |
|---|---|---|
| 2022-02-23 | `351a5ca` | Initial commit: `.gitignore` only. Author and committer: Jaco Brits `<jaco@overdrive.co.za>`. Author date and commit date are both 04:29:38 +0000. Root commit (the only commit). |

No later milestone exists in git. The tip is unchanged from the date OVER-126 recorded.

## Implementation plan

There is no forward plan in the repository. Current status: **one commit, a starter `.gitignore`, no application**. The tip has been unchanged since 2022-02-23.

Whether anyone intends to push code here is **Unknown / Requires Confirmation**.

## Known dependencies

None declared. There is no `composer.json`, `package.json`, `requirements.txt`, `serverless.yml`, `Dockerfile`, `bitbucket-pipelines.yml`, or lockfile.

The ignore file lists example patterns for Node artifacts, Java class files, Python bytecode, Maven output, JetBrains, unit-test reports, OS junk, application binaries, and large media. Those groups appear together in one starter file. They are not a dependency manifest. See `technical-documentation.md`.

## Other names in Silicon Ark

On 2026-10-14 the Silicon Ark checkout contained other top-level directories whose names include "footprint" or "lambda". This remote does not name any of them. A Markdown search for `footprint-lambda` before this directory returned no hits.

Directories whose project plans were opened for this comparison:

| Directory | What its own project plan says | Link from this repository |
|---|---|---|
| `Footprint-Not-Used` | Heading-only `README.md` (`Footprint`), tip `76b2c93`, 2019-05-22 | None |
| `FootPrintLive` | Zend Framework PHP rugby operations application, tip `e54fddb`, 2019-09-10 | None |
| `matchcentre.footprintapp.net` | SA Rugby match centre. `master` tip `3bd3534` (2023-01-13). Other branches (`dev-19-10-2022`, `qa`, `prod`) exist | None |
| `tournaments.footprintapp.net` | `.gitignore` only, tip `cfbbf67`, 2022-07-05 | None |

These directory names were present and were not opened for this task: `intersect_lambda`, `lambda`, `lambda_grinder`, `lambda_java`, `lambdaNodejsPdf`, `unity-lambda-api`. Sharing the word "lambda" or "footprint" is not a product relationship. Whether this slug was meant to hold any of that work is **Unknown / Requires Confirmation**.

The `.gitignore` blob `b24d71e22373e5147f3c05c68a8742714a89b5d6` is the same object hash already recorded for `IOSApp`, `smart_overdrive`, `intersect_cloud_v2`, and `im_flutter_app` in their Silicon Ark technical documents. Identical blob hash means identical file bytes. That is a template comparison. Those documents record different remotes and different dates. This repository does not name them.

## Discrepancy with the onboarding scan

OVER-126 lists this top-level structure for the scan-host path:

```text
sonar-project.properties
sonarqube_scan.bat
```

Neither file is in the Bitbucket repository at `351a5ca`. The commit diff adds `.gitignore` only. The issue listing does not mention `.gitignore`, which is the only tracked path. A directory listing that skips dotfiles would omit it.

`.gitignore` does not match `sonar-project.properties` or `sonarqube_scan.bat`. If those files were present in a working tree, this ignore list would not hide them.

The same two filenames appear in the onboarding notes for other repositories whose git trees do not contain them (for example `wiki`, `website`, and `Footprint-Not-Used`). Whether they are untracked SonarQube wrapper files added on the scan host, rather than project source, is **Inferred** from that repeated pattern. It is **Unknown / Requires Confirmation** until someone opens the scan-host directory and reads the files.

## Human confirmation

- Is this repository supposed to hold a product, or should it stay as the February 2022 ignore-only commit?
- What do the words "footprint" and "lambda" in the slug refer to?
- Whether any relationship to `FootPrintLive`, `matchcentre.footprintapp.net`, `tournaments.footprintapp.net`, `Footprint-Not-Used`, or another Lambda repository was intended.
- Whether the two Sonar filenames on the scan host are project files, and what they contain.
- Intended language, framework, and host, if code was meant to be pushed later.
